sauce, noodles, cheese, repeat

On our most recent road trip, we tried to order the new "lasagna casserole" at three different Tim Hortons, but we were denied this culinary delight. I decided to whip up a real lasagna to satisfy this craving. [Recipe and more info after the jump.]

Ingredients:
Meg's meaty tomato sauce (recipe to be posted soon)
ricotta spread (recipe below)
mix of mozarella, parmesan, provolone and asiago cheeses
12 lasagna noodles (follow package directions)

Ricotta spread:
300 g ricotta
1 egg
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt

After a base layer of sauce (about 1/2 cup), I layered in the following order: noodle, ricotta spread/cheese mix, noodle, sauce, noodle, etc. On the top layer I sprinkled more cheese mix and then baked for 45 minutes at 375. Overall, it took about 20 minutes of prep time (with the sauce already made) and the rest of the time I waited patiently.

Tim Hortons has nothing on this, seriously. Now we have delicious lunches for the next few days too. Amazing.
