Kid food for adults: Shake 'n Bake

Comfort food is exactly what we've been craving lately. I'm excited to share this recipe with you, but I can't take credit for Ryan's idea. It was so much fun (and tasty) to recreate a favourite from his past. Say it with me: "shake n' bake"!

Honestly, it was so easy. We made bread crumbs from about 5 pieces of bread and we added Parmesan cheese, cayenne, garlic salt, salt and pepper. You could get creative with the flavours!

Instead of water, we dipped the chicken pieces in an egg wash before shaking in the bag. After 40 minutes at 400, we were impressed at the crispiness and juiciness of the chicken. We were instantly transported back to the 1980s: see clip.

We served it with Ryan's garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. I highly recommend a dab of port wine jelly or red pepper jelly. Yummy.
